IRP-21

The IRP-21 form, known as the IRP Temporary Evidence of Apportioned Registration (TEAR) Request Form, allows New York International Registration Plan account holders to obtain a 30-day temporary operating authority for specific vehicles while their permanent registration application is being processed. This temporary permit is nontransferable and is typically used when adding vehicles, transferring plates, or increasing registered weight to ensure carriers can remain operational during the administrative review period.

By submitting this request, the registrant agrees to provide all necessary documentation and pay all applicable fees within the 30-day window; failure to do so results in the suspension of the entire IRP account. The completed form, which must include specific vehicle details and the registrant's certification, is submitted via fax to the International Registration Bureau in Albany, which typically issues the temporary authority within two business days.
