IRP-6

The NY DMV IRP-6 form, officially known as International Registration Plan Schedule A & C, is a comprehensive document used by commercial carriers to register vehicles under the International Registration Plan (IRP). This plan allows for the apportioned registration of commercial vehicles that operate across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces, enabling a registrant to pay fees to a single base jurisdiction which then distributes them to other jurisdictions based on mileage.

The form facilitates a wide range of administrative actions, including opening new accounts, adding or deleting vehicles from a fleet, changing business addresses or names, and requesting temporary authority or replacement credentials like plates and cab cards. It requires detailed information such as registrant and owner data, safety carrier details, vehicle specifications (VIN, weight, axles), and purchase information. By signing the IRP-6, applicants certify compliance with New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law and federal safety regulations, acknowledging that false statements can lead to criminal prosecution and the revocation of registrations.
